Development of Yamaha SR125
The Yamaha SR125 is one of the oldest 125cc four stroke cruiser style motorcycles on the roads today. This great bike was first introduced to the UK market in the 1982 as an ideal CBT motorcycle (compulsory basic training).
In Europe the Yamaha SR 125 became very popular as a learner motorcycle or first bike, because it was cheap, tough, reliable and easy to handle. For an experienced rider, the Yamaha SR125 feels slow and outdated in almost every way.
In recent years all Yamaha SR models went beyond a training school car park and became popular custom bikes, which were turned into trackers, café racers and bobbers. Because of their simplicity, they are easy to service and maintain.
